Understanding Charted Depths and Lake Monroe Water Levels Depths on a NOAA chart in Lake Monroe are based on a gage height of 0.09 feet which represents mean lower low water. Vertical clearances on a NOAA chart in Lake Monroe are based on a gage height of 3.7 feet which represents mean high water. There is no tidal range this far south on the river. The following example shows water level (gage height) and the affect on chart depths and clearances:
